ANSI/IWCA I-14.1

The ANSI/IWCA I-14.1 window cleaning safety standard calls for annual inspection of building anchor systems and access equipment by a qualified person. Annual inspections catch problems long before the 10-year load test cycle comes around, which is why they are the backbone of a responsible maintenance program.

ANSI Z359

The ANSI Z359 family of fall protection standards covers the design, use, and inspection of fall protection and fall arrest components. These standards guide how anchors and connected equipment should perform and how often they should be examined.

It is also worth knowing the difference between anchor types. Fall restraint anchors, which keep a worker from reaching a fall hazard, are not proof-load tested the way rope descent anchorages are.
